Personal Responsibility In Delivering Excellence

I hope you are enjoying your summer, spending time together as a family!

Since school has been out, we’ve received our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade FSA Reading and Math Scores, 5th grade FCAT Science 2.0 scores and earned a school grade of a C.  I am very proud of our students and staff and we will continue to work hard to achieve high levels of learning for all students!

Report cards are available for pick-up in the front office.  FSA individual student reports have not been delivered to the school yet.  So please check the parent portal for your child’s scores.  I will complete a dial-out when student score reports are available for pick-up.

I will be sending home a letter to each student in August to welcome them to the 2017-2018 school year and they will find out who their teacher is at Open House on Wednesday, August 9th.  We can’t wait to see you there!  Grade level supply lists are available in the front office and also on the website.  Additional supplies may be requested by specific teachers at Open House.

As you plan for next school year, please remember the importance of your child being at school, on time and ready to learn.  Student hours are 8:20-3:30.  We are asking students to be on campus by 8:20, when the first bell rings.  The tardy bell is 8:30.  Please remember that five tardies or early releases equal an absence.  It’s so important that our students be on time and bring their Cowboy P.R.I.D.E. (Personal Responsibility in Delivering Excellence)!!  I appreciate your support with this!

The staff of Highlands Elementary are looking forward to seeing each of you at Open House, Wednesday, August 9th, from 4:00 – 7:00, as well as the first day of school, Thursday, August 10th at 8:20 sharp!

Enjoy the rest of your summer and we will see you soonJ

Giddy Up Cowboys!!!
