Highland Elementary hosted on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017, the first annual Osceola County Elementary Chess Tournament. We were competing in 2 Brackets. The k-3 bracket and the 4-5 bracket. Highlands is proud to announce the names of our representatives;

For the k-3 bracket, we had Zamare Stone, Micah John and Aiden Rodriguez.

For our 4-5 bracket, we had Oasi Ahmend, William Castillo, Jesse Rodriguez and Michael Boyd.

Our Highlands Elementary Cowboys brought their A Game with their Cowboy PRIDE.

The Tournament was a single elimination and not Timed.

In the End, our own Oassi Ahmed was the District winner and titled the “Osceola County Chess King” for the year!

To set the record straight, the entire Highlands Elementary Chess Club did an outstanding job at the Tournament where they represented the RANCH Expectations along with sportsmanship for the games.

You ALL make Highlands Proud and deserve a round of applause.
