Highlands Elementary School

Welcome to the Highlands Elementary Cowboy Crew, Corporal Mario Lewis!

I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. I attended and graduated from Forest Hill High School. After finishing high school, I enrolled in Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana to play basketball. After playing two years of basketball there, I enrolled in Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota, to finish my college basketball eligibility. I joined the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. I had one deployment to Ramadi, Iraq. After leaving the military, I enrolled at Mississippi State University to complete my Bachelor’s degree in History. I attended the police academy at Osceola Technical College before being hired by the Kissimmee Police Department (6 years). 

I have a wife and we have been married for 15 years. My wife is a network marketer. We have two children. My stepdaughter attends Arizona State University, online and works for Starbucks. My son is a senior at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
